What the PRWeek community did last week

Wrap up the past seven days with our most read content, topped by Edelman alumnus Robert Phillips' warning that agencies are trying to 'win the wrong arguments'.

Alex Aiken: the PRWeek contributor gets a slightly bigger job

Alex Aiken: the PRWeek contributor gets a slightly bigger job

Writing for our first print issue of 2013, Phillips aka @citizenrobert focused on four key issues: measurement, data, organisational design and the love of the idea.

We wonder if Alex Aiken, whose new job as executive director of government comms was our second most read story, will be taking Philips’ advice to heart?

Third most read was the news that Peter Cross is swapping agency life with @maryportas to go in-house at middle England’s favourite department store John Lewis.

In another client-side move Tom Curry is checking out of Tesco and checking into InterContinental Hotels, while in public affairs MHP has lured Flora Coleman out of ‘the crunchy end of coalition government’.

A change of employer is one thing, but for former public and Olympic servants Godric Smith (@godricsmith) and Greg Nugent (@nugentgreg) it’s really business time, as our front page exclusive by @johnowens86 revealed.

At the sharp end of agency life, Freuds opened the scoring with the £410,000 Green Deal brief but the really big money is heading out of WPP to Interpublic.

One to watch is Boeing’s Dreamliner. After a nightmare week for the new plane Thomson Holidays may be a little anxious about its upcoming UK first – but isn’t showing it.

There’s plenty more for you, but you’re busy so that’s a wrap.

Not so busy?

You could spend some quality time getting to know the Ministry of Defence’s incoming comms chief Stephen Jolly.

Or see if you agree with our predictions for 2013's trends from the likes of Richard Millar, Warren Johnson and Arlo Brady
.

Or just enjoy this superbly crafted response from the White House to a petition to begin construction on a Death Star by 2016.

Or applaud as Kindred's Lorna Gozzard (@lornagozzard) tries to help hacks to help themselves (ahem) as she asks 'What do journalists do that annoys PRs?'
