PRCA launches regional awards with Lords Chadlington and Black as chairs
Huntsworth CEO Lord Chadlington and executive director of the Telegraph Media Group Lord Black are to spearhead new nationwide PRCA awards intended to show that 'excellence is not bound by the M25'.
Lord Chadlington: Heading up judging panel
Chadlington and Black will be co-chairing the judging panel for the DARE Awards, which will run over five days this June and are organised by regions.
Lord Chadlington said: ‘For too long, the UK PR industry has seen those outside London as being second-rate to those in the capital. This idea is absolute rubbish, and something that I personally want to see wiped away for good. This is why we are upping the ante with the DARE Awards, which celebrate real excellence.’
The DARE Awards will feature ten entry categories. Submissions for entry can come from individuals, consultancies and in-house teams from both the public and private sector.
There will be five day-long events running in Leeds, Edinburgh, Slough, Bristol and Birmingham.
Other judges include Capital MSL MD Steffan Williams, Local Government Association comms director David Holdstock and GolinHarris international president Matt Neale.
Lord Black said: ‘I’ve seen plenty of PR talent across the UK, and that’s why the DARE Awards are a great opportunity to show that excellence is not bound by the M25. I’m looking forward to shining a light on the leaders.’
Entries for the awards open today and close on 26 April. The nominations will be announced on 10 May.
The CIPR also runs a network of regional PR awards, called the PRide Awards.
